Doorbells have been around for many years and have replaced humble door knockers as the best way to inform residents of their place of residence. The doorbell has improved over the years, and now we are working on the next batch of doorbell improvements. Video doorbells are becoming more and more popular today, and Ring has been there since the beginning.
Ring Video Doorbell 2 design
Ring Video Doorbell 2 has a lot in common with its predecessor. It is slightly wider and slightly deeper than the original model of the video doorbell, but there are more similarities. The doorbell itself is about 5 “x 2.5” x 1 “, and if viewed from the top or bottom, it has a slightly rounded trapezoidal shape.
From the front, the first third is shiny black plastic with the camera lens in the middle. On both sides of the lens are sensors and microphones at the bottom corners of the camera housing. The rest of the bottom is soft-touch plastic, with an LED ring and doorbell button in the middle. The round LED ring and doorbell button lift slightly from the rest of the doorbell. The ring name tag is centered on the bottom of the front of the device. Lined with doorbell buttons on both sides of the doorbell is the speaker grille so you can talk to anyone at the door.
The bottom is separated from the rest of the case to install or remove the battery. Although the doorbell can be hardwired directly to the doorbell line, it still needs to be powered. Hard-wired wiring works much like a trickle charger, keeping the battery charged as much as possible. At the bottom of the doorbell, you will find a hole with a security screw that prevents anyone from removing the cover, removing the battery, and usually invalidates your doorbell. The rear of the doorbell includes two screws to hardwire the doorbell to an existing line.
Ring Video Doorbell 2 installation Process
Setting up and installing Ring Video Doorbell 2 is very simple. Rings make the system very good, and they provide high-quality instructions to help you go smoothly. You can choose to use the doorbell’s battery to power the device, or you can hardwire the doorbell to an existing doorbell line. Either way, you need to fully charge the doorbell’s battery before installation, because although hardwired to power the doorbell, it is more like a trickle charger, which means the battery can still be fully drained. Normal use should keep the battery without problems, but in general use, and in cold weather, even if it is hard-wired, it may cause the battery to run out.
After the battery is charged and installed on the doorbell, you need to install the Ring app on your Android or iOS device. The application will guide you through part of the setup process, you will first connect to the WiFi output by the doorbell itself, then connect the doorbell to your own WiFi for use. You can test with a doorbell before installing it in your home to see how it works.
Tilt mounts are best suited for doors located at the top or bottom of a set of stairs and provide a better overall view of the doorway without creating too much extra unnecessary movement. Rotating the stand will slightly adjust the angle for the best view of the doorway. Two mounting screws are required for each mount, and two screws can be used if necessary. After installing the mount, you can screw the ring doorbell into the mount. After installing the doorbell, the top cover clicks into place at the bottom of the doorbell, and a security screw is screwed into the bottom of the doorbell to prevent anyone from tampering with the doorbell or battery.
